We fully clean and prepare the area before parging and give it a sponge finish
What is parging?
Parging is to apply a layer of special concrete designed for lower, vertical surfaces to the outside of a wall, usually the exterior foundation of a house because that area gets beat up by snow and ice the most.
First, you need to knock off any existing loose parging or any loose parts of the wall and thoroughly clean the area so that the new materials will properly adhere to the wall.
After a generous layer (sometimes more than one is required to make it uniform and flush with the rest of the wall) of parging is applied, use a sponge to give it a nice textured, even and great looking finish. This will make the entire section last much longer than clay bricks and will lighten up to a light concrete-gray look when fully cured.
