This home in the the Junction had this older style of stone veneer installed on the front porch section of it. It looks dated and unfortunately it’s going to damage the bricks when removed. As you can see, it left glue all over the bricks. We had them cleaned and then we tuckpointed and installed fresh mortar where it was needed. Finally, we applied a matte finish exterior brick seal. Boom💥 - newly restored wall!

This double flue chimney in Roncesvalles was cracked and damaged. Repairing that would be a bit of work and install a modern concrete cap. Instead, since the chimney is not in use, we removed the chimney down to just above the roof and capped it off with a concrete paver.
This way, if any future owners want to use the chimney again, they can simply remove this cap and build it back up. Otherwise, the current owner doesn’t have to worry about pieces falling or needing to repair it anymore.

This is one of the projects we’re most proud of from this season. 👏
We replaced some badly damaged bricks around the front of this location of The BeerStore in Mississauga. We replaced the bricks, installed fresh mortar and then painted them to match the existing colour scheme and style of The Beer Store locations.
We did a lot more work on the mall complex in the parking lot of this location as well. Masonry supplies from Kreitmaker and paint from Sherwin-Williams

We do a lot of tuckpointing - it’s usually difficult to illustrate in photos because the idea is that we try to get our mortar to match as close as possible, so it’s going to be tough to see.
Here are a couple of cases that give an idea of how it looks - we remove the cracked mortar joints, or the unsightly, poorly repaired previous work - and install a good matching mortar.
When you see cracks like this around your home, you should get them repaired before water and critters make their way inside.🌬🐭 We’re wrapping up the season and it’s been mighty productive!💪

This front porch and steps were in desperate need of a facelift. We came in and applied a premium concrete to the surface of everything to make it look new again. There were some craters, holes and cracks that were filled in and the whole area looks like fresh concrete once again! Products from @kreitmaker! Shout out to @mikemasonto for the great work!

The top section of this chimney was damaged and falling a part on Roselawn Ave in York. We got up there and rebuilt this section of the chimney! We installed a new concrete cap to get it sealed up and ready for the Winter. It’s now good to go. Getting all projects wrapped up before the cold weather begins. Working in November isn’t so bad as long as you dress in layers and keep moving!👷‍♀️

Sometimes chimney repairs are like playing Jenga in real life up high on a roof. In this case, the chimney had already been repaired so we did what was needed to replace the damaged bricks on the lower hip of the chimney and also up above the roof line section. This home is in Mississauga and sometimes the bricks in certain locations are impossible to perfectly match, so we find the best ones we can find. This project turned out nicely and their chimney is good to go for the incoming Winter.

Here’s a lovely wall that was in desperate need of attention!🧱
The original brick wall was breaking apart, so someone came along and instead of replacing the damaged bricks, tried to hide them behind brick veneer. This is so much more work than replacing what’s needed. Obviously the veneer wasn’t holding up and was also blocking the drip edge above the wall from keeping water off it.
We tore down the small wall, installed new bricks and created a new structurally safe and sound wall.

This is one small section of a major project we completed this season, replacing badly damaged bricks like this around an entire strip shopping mall in Mississauga! Someone bolted up a plank to try to keep the bricks from falling apart. It also looked like someone really wanted a pipe installed into the wall next to the door and didn’t care how many bricks were broken to get it in. These buildings are different bricks, so we matched them appropriately. These lovely and specific bricks were supplied by the endearing @kreitmaker.

Side basement window bricked up and parged over! We parged over the entire wall, so you would never know there was a window there. It’s removed, bricked up and parged uniformly across the side of the house. Project completed in time for the Winter and materials supplied by the lovely @kreitmaker

Did someone order a new pillar?🧱
Another leaning pillar was removed and rebuilt with fresh bricks to match the house. The foundation of the pillar was solid and level, so we reinforced it and built it up again.
A lot of times these pillars can lean because the porches are built into them. The joists for the porches are resting inside the pillar and are constantly moving, combined with the weight of the roof pushing down and out. All that pressure and movement can eventually cause the pillars to lean away from the house. We rebuild them all the time and they’re good as new!💪

Concrete bricks are some of the toughest bricks around. Instead of breaking apart and pieces falling off, they erode and take a lot of punishment.
These are next to the stairs on the entrance to a store on Dundas St West. We replaced all the damaged concrete bricks in the corners. Great brick match from the exceptional @kreitmaker as always. Another project complete in time for the Winter!
